Westminster, MD, Tuesday, November 3, 2026 – Carroll County Economic Development is pleased to promote the upcoming Manufacturing Skills for Success Boot Camp, a five-day workforce training program delivered by the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (Maryland MEP).
The boot camp will be held November 16-20, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Carroll County Workforce Development, 224 N. Center Street in Westminster. There is no cost to participate, and applications must be submitted by Friday, November 6, 2026.
The Manufacturing Skills for Success Boot Camp is designed for individuals interested in launching a career in manufacturing, transitioning to a new field, or enhancing their skills to pursue new employment opportunities.
This hands-on program provides participants with foundational manufacturing knowledge, workplace readiness skills, safety training, and career preparation. Developed to support both job seekers and employers, the five-day boot camp helps strengthen Maryland's manufacturing workforce by connecting local businesses with trained candidates equipped with in-demand skills and industry-recognized credentials.
Participants will receive instruction in key manufacturing concepts, workplace safety, quality control, and professional skills needed for success in today's manufacturing environment. The program also includes OSHA 10 General Industry Safety Training and Certification.
Upon successful completion, Maryland MEP works to connect graduates with manufacturing employers across the state that are actively hiring.
“The Manufacturing Skills for Success Boot Camp is an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain the skills and confidence needed to begin a rewarding career in manufacturing,” said Denise Beaver, CEcD. Director of Carroll County Economic Development. “By partnering with Maryland MEP and Carroll County Workforce Development, we are helping residents access high-quality training at no cost while supporting the workforce needs of Carroll County manufacturers. Programs like this strengthen our local talent pipeline and create opportunities for both job seekers and employers.”
